Comcast Adds Data to Hospitality Video Services

4/13/2004 9:42 AM Eastern

Comcast Corp. is launching Comcast HospitalityONE, which will provide high-speed Internet services to the hotel industry.

The MSO hopes to build off the 10,000-property, 650,000-hotel-room base for which it provides video services.

Phil McRae, vice president of sales and distribution for Comcast, said the MSO will provide hotels with "an easy, cost-effective and reliable solution" to offer guests high-speed services.

Comcast HospitalityONE’s first client is Amelia Island Plantation.

The MSO plans to charge a flat fee for the high-speed-data service, with no equipment costs upfront. It is promising speeds three to five times faster than T-1 lines.
