By Linda Moss -- Multichannel News, 5/29/2007 2:36:00 PM

Cablevision Systems added four new channels to its iO en español package.

The fast-growing Spanish-language tier now includes NDTV-The Dominican Channel, Ecuavisa Internacional, Caracol TV Internacional and WAPA America, bringing the total number of channels in the package to 37.

iOe features in-language networks from Latin America, South America, the Caribbean, Spain, Puerto Rico and Mexico, as well as unlimited use of World Picks Latino On Demand, a unique Spanish-language video-on-demand service. The package is available for an additional $4.95 per month for Family Cable and iO digital-cable customers or $14.95 per month for customers of the company’s broadcast-basic level of service.

The new additions to iOe include:

• NDTV-The Dominican Channel: A news and entertainment channel that offers shows produced in the Dominican television market such as To2Bien, Sábado de Corporán and Noche de Luz.

• Ecuavisa Internacional: A general-entertainment Ecuadorian channel with programming focusing on news, sports, politics, social issues, crime series, comedy and popular Ecuadorian telenovelas.

• Caracol TV Internacional: Produced by the leading broadcaster in Colombia, the network is a general-entertainment channel that focuses on a variety of news, interview and sports programs.

• WAPA America: It provides original programming from Puerto Rico, with content that includes boxing, baseball, news and Noticentro 4.

Additionally, Cablevision is currently offering 25 regular-season New York Mets Major League Baseball home games in Spanish to iOe customers. The games will be available on channel 231 exclusively as part of iOe. Games will be broadcast live with Juan Alicea and Maximo Jimenez calling the action.
