Jeffrey Schneider Named Senior Vice President of Business Affairs

By Linda Moss -- Multichannel News, 10/9/2007 7:47:00 AM

Lifetime Networks named Jeffrey Schneider, a veteran of Fox and MTV, senior vice president of business affairs and deputy general counsel.

Schneider, who most recently was senior vice president of business and legal affairs for Fox Television Studios, will be based in Lifetime’s Los Angeles office.

In his new role, he will oversee all business affairs for Lifetime’s programming, including scripted series, alternative/reality series, made-for-television movies and digital. He will work closely with Susanne Daniels, Lifetime’s president of entertainment, and Linda Rein, senior vice president of business affairs and general counsel.

Prior to joining Fox, Schneider was the senior vice president of business affairs and deputy general counsel for MTV from 2003 to 2007. In this position, he was in charge of all day-to-day legal and business matters for the network’s West Coast operations, including program development, production, acquisitions and distribution.

Before that, Schneider was at the law firm of Katz, Golden & Sullivan from September 2000 to April 2003, where he represented talent, producers, writers, directors and production companies in motion pictures, television, new media and publishing.

From 1994 through 2000, Schneider worked at Paramount Network Television. He began his legal career in 1991 as a law clerk to the Chief U.S. District Court Judge for the District of Nevada, Edward Reed Jr.

Schneider holds a J.D. from the University of Southern California (1991, with honors), as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from UCLA (1987, cum laude). He is currently an adjunct professor at Pepperdine University Law School.
